Paul was appointed to the CURA Board in May 2019 following a short period as an honorary Board member.
Paul brings to the Board extensive experience, knowledge and skills from his career in the Local and State government sectors of WA, mainly in the corporate and/or financial services areas. He is now retired after 11 years at the Shire of Mundaring and 30 years previously in State Government agencies such as Office of Energy, State Treasury, Premier’s Department, Office of Public Sector Standards and Ombudsman’s Office including some time in Ministerial Offices. Paul holds a Bachelor of Business Degree in Accounting and he is a member of other not for profit boards outside of this sector.
Whilst Paul has limited background in the aged care sector, he is committed to contributing to the community through the use of his strong experience and knowledge in finance, governance, human resources, information technology, information management and strategic planning at both State and Local Government levels which he believes will assist the Board and CURA to become an even stronger organisation.
Perth born and raised, Jacqui has over 20 years’ experience in business management, community services, training and evaluation. Jacqui brings to Cura an in-depth knowledge of the local and national ageing and aged care sector particularly in the areas of management and leadership, policy, compliance and best-practice. She is the Director of Consultivation, an authorised Marriage Celebrant, wife and mother.
With a background built on finance and academia, Rod has over 15 years experience working to improve lives of older Australians. Rod’s employment has included senior management positions within the Not for Profit sector, including Aged Care and Community Services. Rod has worked in transitional and change management settings improving the efficiency in organisational settings.
Rod is recently retired and currently volunteers for a number of organisations including community services and coastal regeneration and has served as a non-executive Treasurer previously.
Marjorie was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands but has spent nearly all her life in Australia, now living in Perth. After training as a primary school teacher, Marjorie’s career path was interrupted by the birth and upbringing of her four children who are now grown with children of their own – 11 of them.
Instead of returning to teaching Marjorie worked for Australia Post, the Department of Defence in civilian and military roles, and is currently an Assistant Director at the National Archives of Australia where she leads the Perth reference team, providing reading room and remote reference assistance to researchers from all over Australia, and indeed the world.
As she approaches her senior years Marjorie has begun to reconnect with her Dutch heritage. She looks forward to being able to use some of her years of acquired experience to support CURA In-Home Care.
As a qualified accountant with over 40 years of knowledge acquired in the finance and banking industries, along with skills gained in his own management and financial consultancy, Henri provides invaluable leadership and support to both the Board and Executive of CURA In-Home Care.
Henri admits to deriving a great deal of personal satisfaction working with like-minded people in the support of the elderly in the West Australian community.
Ray’s executive background in both the Federal and State Public Service, as well as private enterprise provides CURA In-Home Care with an abundance of knowledge in areas of good corporate governance.
His 12 years as a Member of the WA State Parliament also provides immeasurable experience in the understanding and interaction with policy makers.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants, a board member of RSL Aged Care and a member of the Advisory Board of Constitution Centre of WA.
Sean has worked in a variety of human resources, employee relations and project management roles prior to starting his own consultancy in 2014. In 2020, Sean was admitted as a lawyer in Western Australia and now practice in employment law with a specialist Perth firm that has strong links to the WA Aged Care sector.
Sean and his wife care for two elderly parents with a third parent now in residential aged care and he is proud to support CURA’s committed team helping seniors living at home.
Jerome is an I.T professional with over 20 years in the industry. He is a small business owner of an I.T. consultancy with a focus on providing services to the health & medical sector.
Jerome is a member of the Australian Computer Society (ACS), the peak body for the ICT industry, also having attained Certified Professional with a specialism in Cyber Security through the ACS. He volunteers his time as a mentor to high school students and emerging ICT professionals.
