October Cura Newsletter – Celebration, Connection and Care
Our October edition is all about gratitude, learning, and community. We begin by celebrating Aged Care Employee Day, a heartfelt thank-you to our incredible staff and volunteers who go above and beyond to make every day brighter for our clients.
This month’s highlights include our Daffodil Day Lunch, where we gathered to share friendship and support for cancer research, and a powerful Dementia Training session for our ACVVS volunteers. We also feature The Hogeweyk Dementia Village — an inspiring story from the Netherlands showing how thoughtful design can create communities where people living with dementia thrive.
Looking ahead, we recognise National Carers Week, reflect on a beautiful Captain Cook River Cruise, and share practical safety advice in our Tip of the Month on preventing falls at home.
It’s a wonderful issue filled with warmth, awareness, and appreciation — we hope you enjoy it!
